The clock tower was built after the 1664., because it was not mentioned in Evlija Celebi’s Book of Travels. The clock tower was in use until the beginning of World War I when Austro-Hungarian authorities took the bell down and used it in war. It was destroyed in 1930s (20th century). The clock tower was rebulit in the spirit of popularity of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian society and today it symbolizes one of the most representative urban contents of Stolac.
